Ask me anything related to the forum topic or off-topic. I don't know everything but I will answer with what I do know! πŸ˜„

What inspired you to make this forum?

I took a long rabbit trail down this path since 2021. I wanted to learn how and why inflation was so bad and worse than it seemed.

I see you watched the pinned documentary, I'd also recommend watching episode 4 of hodden secrets of money. Watch ALL of them if you have the time but episode 4 is critical.

I'm going down the rabbit hole right now too.

Anyway, do you work in finance?

I have a few questions, what's one thing you would tell your younger self about money management or finance in general to better prepare you for the future? In other words, what piece of information would you wish you had earlier?

Also, what do you think is the single biggest lie people are told about the economy?

I do not, I just wanted to know why inflation happens so I started learning about it.

I for sure would tell myself how current money is not really money at all, it's debt based currency. Then I could have gotten into saving in metals earlier.

The biggest lie? There are so many. Probably that(in the USA) we have a Capitalist economic system. We use a central bank that is in control of our currency which means currency is not free and central banks are a key pillar in the Communist Manifesto. Am I saying we live in communism? No, but I am saying it's much more like socialism for the rich and powerful. This is known as the Cantillon Effect where those who have the power to create currency benefit more and at the expense of others.

I realized I didn't give a little background about myself. Here goes! I've always been fascinated with inflation since hearing my dad tell me he could buy for 5 cents what cost a full dollar as a kid. As someone whose wages as a young adult never kept up with inflation or minimum wage, I wanted to know why so I did lots of research.

Do you see the end of US dollar as a world currency? In case US Dollars comes down as world currency, which currency do you see replacing US dollar

If you mean as a world reserve currency, then yes. We have seen signs of that for years already. US treasury holdings used to be 70+% of all holdings around the world. Now it has dropped to just above 50% and as seen in our other topic, gold has surpassed US treasuries in global holdings(not treasuries+dollars though). So I do see the US Dollar losing world reserve currency status but probably not this year or next. Maybe in 5-10 years but I'm not good with timeframes.

As to what I see replacing it? I'm not sure. I'm sure the same people in charge of destroying the dollar(Federal Reserve) will try to push something new that looks like it's just a different form of the Dollar so people don't really notice that anything has changed. But being the same people behind the new thing means it will still be just as bad as what we have currently, it will be some form of fiat currency that is not backed by anything of real value. I could see gold returning to our monetary system after another failed attempt at baseless currency.

There are several states that have passed legislation already that allow them to recognize gold and silver as legal tender money as the Constitution of the United States allows them to do so.
